I’m a sucker for HGTV home makeover shows. I mean, if I won the lottery I’d totally hire Chip & Joanna Gaines to work their magic. But in the meantime, I’ll gather inspiration from Fixer Upper & Pinterest and work from there! 🙂

This room was a bit of work, but so rewarding! Growing up, this room served as my Dad’s office. The one wall with all of the empty shelves was jam packed full of books and journals. We knew that we wanted the wallpaper to go, but had no idea what shape the walls would be in, underneath.

Once we peeled back the wallpaper we decided we would try to fix the original lath & plaster, which was a little tedious, but way less messy then tearing everything off and re-drywalling and we also didn’t want to risk loosing any of the original wood trim work. We even found a little treasure hidden beneath the wallpaper. The end result was good enough for us! The odd bumps and tiny cracks I think adds to the character of how old our house is!

This room now serves as our workout space. Scroll on down to see our before and after photos! 🙂
